Why Wave Academy

We offer surf instruction in Czech for complete beginners and experienced surfers. What sets us apart from a standard one-off lesson is our comprehensive teaching approach, which helps you better understand technique, how to work with a wave and how to move around a surf spot.

Our surf lessons take place around El Médano in Tenerife and are always shaped by that day’s ocean and weather conditions. We teach more than just what we know: we share a way of thinking that makes surfing more meaningful and more enjoyable.

Choose your style

All surf lessons are led by instructors certified by the ISA and the Spanish and Canarian surf federations, with lifeguard qualifications. Lessons run 365 days a year in Czech, with the day’s ocean and weather conditions taken into account.

We choose the best teaching location for the conditions, most often Playa La Jaquita or Playa El Salado in the El Médano area. The lesson price includes the necessary equipment: surfboard, wetsuit, leash and wax. Before entering the water, we cover theory, technique, tactics and how to read the spot.

Private surf lesson

2 h — Personal attention, flexible scheduling and the fastest progress. The lesson focuses on your needs, learning pace and a specific goal in the water. Suitable for one person, a couple or a small private group.

Group surf lesson

2 h — Surf with your crew. A group lesson brings motivation, a shared experience and support from others. The instructor leads the whole group while keeping an eye on each participant’s level.

Family surfing

4 h — A day of surfing at the beach, just for you. The programme follows the pace of the whole family and brings together a safe setting, technique, movement in the water and a shared experience by the ocean.

The people who will guide you in the water
